The modalities we learn to use in Classical Chinese Medicine inspire us to some understanding that to be healthy we must gain a greater understanding of our lives.

The Lillian F. Phillips Library

The Lillian F. Phillips Library at the Swedish Institute is a modern reference and lending library located on the sixth floor. The library offers an extensive selection of current books and periodicals, as well as audiotapes and videotapes. There is also a valuable collection of rare and historically significant books, dating back to the 1890's, used when the school was founded in 1916.

Books are classified using the Dewey Decimal Classification System and can be located by searching the computer database. The current catalog has over 2,000 holdings listed. Search our catalog.

Services

The library is open for reference and study during the following hours when classes are in session:

Monday through Friday
8:00 am to 8:30 pm

Saturday
11:00 am to 4:00 pm

The library is open to all students, staff, faculty and alumni who have valid school identification.

The computers have Internet access for students' use in doing research for assignments. There are also monitors with headphones for viewing videotapes.

In order to serve students who are visually impaired or blind, the library has been equipped with special computer software that can enlarge text, scan and read text, or read information aloud from the computer and Internet. There are also tactile textbooks and tactile anatomical charts.
